The Destination
Boca Raton
From the beginning, we knew our wedding would be a destination for almost everyone. Our families are spread across the Midwest and the South, we met in New York City, we now call Miami home, and our friends are scattered everywhere from Iowa to Alabama to California to Boston.
The only question was where that destination would be.
We did not have a particular city or venue in mind, but we knew we wanted something romantic, memorable, and a little less traditional. Then, one day, Madison realized she had one true non-negotiable: she wanted to get married beneath big, beautiful old trees.
That realization sent us searching everywhere from Tennessee to Charleston. Eventually, we decided that if nearly everyone was going to travel, it made the most sense to welcome them to Florida, the place we now call home.
After what felt like touring every venue in South Florida, and nearly every venue across the South, we found The Addison in Boca Raton. With its historic architecture, towering banyan trees, and unmistakable old Florida charm, it had the romantic and timeless feeling we had been searching for all along.
The moment we walked in, we knew we had found the place where we would say “I do.”
Travel
Airports
Boca Raton is served by three nearby airports, each with different tradeoffs depending on your priorities. Uber & Lyft are easily accessible from all three airports
PBI
Palm Beach International (PBI) is the closest option, about 20 minutes from Boca Raton.
FLL
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) is roughly 30 minutes away and typically offers the best combination of flight options and fares.
MIA
Miami International (MIA) is about an hour away, depending on traffic, but has the widest range of nonstop flights.
Lodging
To provide our guests with flexibility, we have decided to offer lodging suggestions instead of organizing a block at one location. We recommend staying within Boca Raton for ease throughout the wedding weekend by keeping you close to our venue, to each other, and to everything the area has to offer. Activities & Excursions
PRIVATE SUNSET YACHT CRUISE
There are two excellent options we recommend to our guests for a private boat outing. For guests staying at The Boca Raton, we recommend their 42-foot Wesmac cruising yacht, Relentless. Their private excursion takes small groups out along the Intracoastal for captained sunset outings with cocktails and skyline views. This experience is exclusive to Club members and resort guests of The Boca Raton. For guests not staying at The Boca Raton resort, we recommend the Luxury Retreat Group's 53-foot catamaran, OPA!
PLAY A ROUND OF GOLF
For guests staying at The Boca Raton and interested in a round of golf, we highly recommend booking a tee time at their championship course which is currently being renovated and will reopen in time for our wedding in March. Our second recommendation, Osprey Point Golf Course, is open to the public and was named the NGCOA 2026 Municipal Course of the Year. Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance for this course.
SNORKEL, PADDLE BOARD & KAYAK
For guests interested in snorkeling, Force-E Scuba Center is the place to pick up snorkel gear in Boca. They rent masks, fins, and snorkels. They also keep printed tide charts and reef maps at the counter and will tell you exactly where to start your snorkel. From the shop it is about ten minutes to Red Reef Park, where the snorkel trail sits a short swim off the beach in six to ten feet of water. Go within an hour of high tide and you will see parrotfish, sergeant majors, and often rays.
The easiest way to get on the water via paddle board or kayak, and visitors' favorite, is. a self-serve kiosk for paddle board and kayak rentals., They can be rented straight from an app on your phone with no reservation and no counter to visit. The park has two protected mangrove trails to paddle, an accessible launch, and free parking, and the water is calm enough for a first timer.
Places to See
THE BEACH
Boca's beaches are clean, calm, and rarely crowded on a weekday morning. South Beach Park is the closest to downtown. Red Reef Park has a shallow reef close enough to shore to snorkel from the sand. Spanish River Park is the largest, with picnic areas and tunnels under the road to the sand.
MIZNER PARK
An open-air plaza of shops, restaurants, gardens, and an amphitheater in the center of downtown. It is the best place to spend an afternoon without a plan, and the easiest place to meet up with other guests. Live music is common on weekends.
BOCA RATON MUSEUM OF ART
A genuinely good museum at the north end of Mizner Park, small enough to see in an hour and worth staying longer. Rotating exhibitions run alongside a strong permanent collection, and there is a sculpture garden outside.
SUNDAY GREEN MARKET
A local produce and artisan market on Sunday mornings during the winter season, with about sixty vendors, live music, and good coffee. A nice stop before heading to the airport.
GUMBO LIMBO NATURE CENTER
Twenty acres of coastal preserve with a boardwalk through tropical hardwood hammock, outdoor aquariums, a butterfly garden, and a forty foot observation tower with views over the barrier island and the Intracoastal.
MORIKAMI MUSEUM & JAPANESE GARDENS
Sixteen acres of Japanese gardens west of Delray Beach, with bonsai, koi ponds, a museum, and a cafe. The garden walk is the main attraction. This is about half an hour from downtown Boca.
DELRAY BEACH
Fifteen minutes north, Atlantic Avenue is the most walkable stretch in the area, lined with independent shops, galleries, and restaurants, and it runs straight down to a public beach. Good in the afternoon, better in the evening.
